Decent trip, small payment hiccup

I booked a Familienurlaub for the summer. The selection of hotels was pretty good, and the pricing was competitive with other tour operators. The booking process itself was mostly smooth, but I had a small issue with one of the payment options initially; it showed an error before working on the second try. Delivery of documents was on time. Customer service was responsive when I had a question about transfers being included. Overall, a good experience, just a minor glitch with payment.

Booked a Last Minute Reise. Site was simple to use. Got my travel documents quickly. No issues with the hotel.

Good deal on a package trip

I was looking for a Pauschalreise and found a great Frühbucherrabatt on DERTOUR. The price was significantly better than other sites for the same dates and hotel. I was able to save a good bit, which made the trip feel totally worth it. The booking process was straightforward too, no hidden fees popping up.

Smooth booking, flight change annoying

I booked a Städtereise with flight and hotel to Rome for last month. The online booking was easy to navigate and confirmations came quickly. My flight schedule changed a week before departure, which was a bit annoying, but DERTOUR notified me right away and offered alternative options, though I ended up keeping the new time. Travel documents arrived electronically as promised. The hotel quality was good for the price. Overall a solid experience, just wish the flight hadn't shifted.

is DERTOUR mostly for package deals or can you book just a flight through them? i'm looking for a specific route.

N Nina R. 1 month ago

They're huge on package deals, that's their main thing. But I think they do offer just flights sometimes, you'd have to look on their site. It's not as prominent as the packages though.

B Beth Carter 1 month ago

Afaik, they primarily focus on package holidays, hotels, and tours. They might have a 'Nur-Flug' (flight only) section, but it's not their specialty. You might get better flight-only deals elsewhere.

hey, anyone used a voucher code on DERTOUR before? just wondering if they're a pain to apply or if it's pretty straightforward.

M Megan Foster 1 month ago

Yeah, I used one for a package holiday last winter. You just put it in when you're paying, usually a box for 'Aktionscode' or 'Gutscheincode'. Pretty easy, actually.

J June F. 1 month ago

Just make sure you hit the minimum booking value. I had one not work because my hotel-only booking wasn't enough. They're often for packages too, so double check the fine print.

thinking about booking a trip to Berlin with DERTOUR for early next year. anyone know if their 'early bird' deals are actually good discounts, or just like 10 euros off?

J Julia 2 months ago

Oh, the early bird stuff can be really good, especially for popular destinations. I got almost 100 Euros off a family trip to Austria by booking super early for summer.

P Phil S. 1 month ago

Yeah, I saw some 'Frühbucherrabatt' for 2025 winter holidays that were like 50% off. It depends on the trip though, some are just a decent chunk of money off, like 50-200 Euro vouchers.

do they have options for flexible rebooking if plans change? like, what if something comes up and I need to move my trip dates?

M Marcus 2 months ago

They usually have flexible rebooking options available, but you often have to pay extra for it during the booking process. It's a special add-on, not standard for every trip.

M Mike L. 2 months ago

Yeah, I've seen it listed as an option. Definitely look for 'flexible Umbuchungsoptionen' when you're choosing your package. Otherwise, cancelling or changing can get pricey.

anyone booked a last-minute trip with DERTOUR? trying to squeeze in a quick getaway for next month and wondering what the deals are like.

M Mark V. 1 month ago

Last minute can be hit or miss but I've definitely snagged some decent deals. Usually for specific hotels or destinations that aren't quite full. Worth checking their 'Last Minute Angebote' section.

T Todd 1 month ago

Yeah, I got a surprisingly cheap beach holiday to Spain last summer booking about 3 weeks out. Not like 50% off but definitely a solid discount on the original price.
